MASD is on a regular start today.
Road conditions, as well as family vehicles, differ across our district. During winter months when road conditions can be challenging, families are encouraged to use their best safety judgment to determine their comfort level with transporting their student to school in inclement weather. If your student will be late or absent please call the office. 509-538-2700

PCIA Senior Parents Krispy Kreme Doughnuts fundraiser Friday, February 14th

Mill A School District will have a late start tomorrow, Thursday, February 6th. All classes will start at 10 a.m.

Two PCIA students and one MAS student traveled to Vancouver this past weekend to compete at the Regional High School Chess Championships. PCIA Senior Blake VanSickle had a remarkable competition and placed 6th overall. This was Blake's third year competing in this competition. PCIA Senior Jordan Wickersham and MAS 8th grader Derek Krieger were also successful in their first high school chess competition. Congratulations to all of the competitors!
Blake says it was an enjoyable experience and everyone had a good time. He credits pattern recognition and visualization as key factors of being successful at chess.
The PCIA Chess Club is led by PCIA Instructor, Mr. Jim Harrison. We are so glad our students have this great opportunity at MASD.

Hello PCIA parents!
You may have heard from your student(s) about the upcoming opportunity to see the local production of A Christmas Story at the Bingen Theater on Friday, Dec. 20th. Thanks to the PTO's generous donation, we were able to buy tickets for every PCIA student to attend if they choose. It's totally optional and we understand if some of you already have plans so close to Winter Break.
What: A Christmas Story
When: Friday, Dec. 20th at 7:30 pm*
Where: The Bingen Theater, 210 Oak St Bingen, WA 98605
*We're asking students to arrive by 7pm so we can get photos and make sure everyone gets their seat in time. Students and families are asked to provide their own transportation.
The play is family-friendly and is based on the classic holiday movie of the same title. More info about the play and theater can be found here:
https://www.bigbritches.org/a-christmas-story
We know that most students will be attending but we'd like to know how many extra tickets we'll have from students not able to attend so we can give those tickets to other folks who'd like to attend. If your student will not be able to make it, could you please let us know (just reply to Ms. Brooks!) so we can get a count of extra tickets?
We hope you all are enjoying this wintery weather and wish everyone a safe and relaxing Winter Break.
Best,
Ms. Brooks
